Wait, they have broadcast video here? Why hasn’t the Spider Empire conquered Nova Venezzia through sheer media saturation?
Wait, this IS the Empire we’re talking about. After seeing what they consider diplomacy, I can imagine what they would call quality TV… Never mind, carry on!

Ha ha!
I’ve always seen the Spider Empire as beinga bit like the old Soviet Union – they have the resources and ability to produce technology, but oppression has stifled development so they are way behind Nova Venezia. Also, the Doge would have found a way to jam any signals coming from them, I’m sure!
